The Matterfield Mesh Denoiser is a small Windows command-line tool that takes a noisy .obj mesh and writes a cleaner .obj mesh. It is meant for scan processing meshes whose surfaces have little bumps, scan noise, or rough-looking triangle directions that you want to smooth while keeping the overall shape.

When processing scans, we need to get rid of the noise so our content receives lighting naturally. Noise from 3D scanning is unavoidable, but it's easily removed using the Denoiser. We use it on just about every 3D scan the past few years.
